First Microgrid Concept in Georgia

The engineers and experts of Parvus Group have developed the first microgrid concept in Georgia. The principle of the microgrid implies several optimal power flow control strategies for the network that combines different energy sources, variable loads and energy storage system. The solution considers technical as well as economical aspects. The microgrid is presented only with renewable energy sources like small hydropower plants, solar parks and wind farms. The energy storage system is integrated to the microgrid to optimize and economically use the generated electrical energy into the grid. Besides the optimization task, abovementioned system ensures the security of supply of the predefined critical consumers.
The control of microgrid is done by using the Energy Management System (EMS) that ensures the reliable and secure operation of the system without human involvement/intervention.
