Mr. Sulkhan Zumburidze

A distinguished leader and manager. For more than ten years served as the CEO of the Georgian State Electrosistem (GSE), a transmission system operator in Georgia. Successfully turned around the company. Under his leadership, GSE has built more than 500 km of new high voltage transmission lines, seven new substations, upgraded its existing infrastructure. GSE’s financial position has improved with a four-fold increase in operating revenues and a five-fold increase in EBITDA. The company has evolved into a modern, commercially oriented, successful enterprise

Mr. Mamuka Papuashvili

An outstanding manager and seasoned engineer with a vast experience in the energy sector. For many years served as a CTO of the Georgian State Electrosystem, a transmission system operator in Georgia. Successfully managed numerous projects related to the construction of high voltage power transmission lines and substations, implementation of digital control and protection systems, upgrading of the company’s existing infrastructure. Before joining GSE, Mamuka held several managerial positions at Energo-Pro Georgia, the largest power distribution company.

Mr. Mikheil Zibzibadze

An experienced leader and manager with 15+ years of management experience. Served as CFO and CHRO of the Georgian State Electrosystem, a transmission system operator in Georgia. Under his leadership, GSE became fully IFRS compliant, implemented ERP system, secured capital from investors. Implemented numerous initiatives such as the development of performance appraisal system, employee remuneration system, quality management system. Launched on-the-job training center.

Mr. Giorgi Guldedava

An outstanding project manager and engineer with solid work experience in IFI financed projects. For many years worked for the Georgian State Electrosystem, a transmission system operator. Giorgi successfully managed and implemented numerous energy-related projects such as construction of Hydro Power Plants and High Voltage Substations (500/220 kV). Besides infrastructure-related projects, he successfully implemented the Work and Asset Management system at GSE.

Mr. Giorgi Arziani

An experienced manager, power engineer and scientist. Holds a PhD in power engineering. Served as a CIO of the Georgian State Electrosystem, a power transmission operator. Supervised SCADA and IT functions. Giorgi also serves as an associate professor at the Georgian Technical University. Played an active role in the power system planning and modeling. Worked on numerous R&D projects related to HVDC convertor station, renewable energy sources, power quality, etc. He holds a position of a secretary at Cigre Georgia.

Mrs. Ana Sturua

An experienced lawyer and legal counsel. Worked for the Georgian State Electrosystem, a transmission system operator. Coordinated donor financed projects regarding the Electricity Market establishment, System Services, Security of Supply and Grid Code. Before joining GSE, Ana worked with the United Nations High Commissioner on Refugees as a legal expert. Also Worked on contracts for coal mining and electricity produced by power stations. In the past, she served as a Personal Data Protection Officer at the Public Service Development Agency, ensuring liaison between physical persons and corporate entities on legal framework and terms for receiving access to the data.

Mrs. Teona Elizarashvili

Project Manager

A dedicated young engineer with the main interest in modern technologies at electrical power systems. Holds an MSc at Electrical Power Systems Engineering from the University of Manchester and successfully accomplished an MSc dissertation regarding AC connected offshore wind farms with onshore battery storage. Teona worked as a leading engineer at the SCADA/EMS upgrade project at Georgian State Electrosystem. She is experienced in writing project RFP and technical part of the SCADA/EMS system implementation. Teona is also, a founding member of the Georgia National Committee of CIGRE and leading the women in engineering network in the same organization.
